The Kart Championship welcomes professional photographers, videographers and media organisations to cover events throughout the season.
To ensure the safety of competitors, teams, officials and media personnel, all individuals producing media at championship events must follow the policies outlined below alongside following all safety protocols provided by Motorsport UK.
OTM act as the Official Media Partner of The Kart Championship and oversee media administration, accreditation and operational media management at events
Our first priority is the safety and protection of the children competing in the championship, alongside the welfare of all media personnel working around them
These regulations ensure the championship operates within appropriate safeguarding, insurance and safety standards.

Accreditation
Media Accreditation
Any individual or organisation creating photography or video content for commercial purposes or public distribution must register as accredited media.
This includes individuals who: → Sell photography or video content → Produce paid driver media packages → Operate photography or videography businesses at events → Create monetised content for YouTube or social media → Produce content on behalf of a team, driver brand or sponsor
Accredited media must complete the official media registration process and sign on at each event.

Personal
Personal Use Photography
Parents, guardians and family members are welcome to take photographs or videos of their own driver for personal use.
Personal use includes filming or photographing from: → Team awnings → The paddock → Designated spectator areas → Behind safety barriers or circuit fencing
Personal use does not include: → Selling photographs or videos → Producing content on behalf of a team or sponsor → Operating a photography or video service at events
If any of the above apply, media accreditation will be required.

Team
Team Media
Anyone creating photography or video on behalf of a team, driver brand or sponsor will be considered team media and must register as accredited media. This applies even if the content is not sold commercially.
Examples include: → Team photographers → Team videographers → Social media content creators → Media staff working with teams or drivers
Team media must complete the media registration and event sign-on process.

Areas
Media Access Areas
Approved media may be granted access to the following areas, subject to sign-on, briefing attendance and event approval: → Trackside locations → Dummy grid → Designated media areas
Trackside access is strictly controlled due to the safety requirements of live motorsport events and for persons over the age of 18. Media must remain within designated media positions at all times
A track map will be provided outlining: → Approved media locations → Safe crossing points → Restricted areas
Media must follow all marshal instructions and event safety procedures.

Restricted
Restricted Areas
The following areas are strictly restricted and are not accessible to external media: → Parc Fermé → Scrutineering areas → Technical inspection areas
Access to these areas is reserved exclusively for championship officials and The Kart Championship’s official media team provided by Stu Stretton’s team and OTM.

Sign-On
Media Sign-On & Identification
All accredited media must sign on at Race Control at the start of each event day. Upon signing on, media personnel will receive: → A high visibility media vest → Event safety information → Access to the media WhatsApp group
High visibility vests must be visible at all times when operating in media areas. These must be worn on the outside of any jackets or rucksacks and must be returned at the end of each event day.

Briefing
Media Briefing
A media briefing will take place each race weekend. All accredited media must attend this briefing.
The briefing will cover: → Event safety procedures → Track crossing locations → Media positioning areas → Red zone restrictions → Operational updates for the event
Failure to attend the media briefing will result in all track access being removed.

Communication
Media WhatsApp Group
All accredited media will be added to the official event media WhatsApp group.
This group will be used to: → Provide event updates → Communicate safety information → Notify media of any safety concerns or positioning issues → Coordinate operational media activity
If a media provider is observed operating outside the permitted safety areas, they may be contacted directly through this group.

Safety
Trackside Safety
Karting events involve live motorsport activity and moving vehicles at all times.
Media must operate with a high level of situational awareness and follow all instructions from: → Race officials → Marshals → Championship staff
Media must only cross the circuit at approved crossing points and only when instructed that it is safe to do so.
Failure to follow trackside safety rules may result in immediate removal of media access.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding
The Kart Championship hosts a large number of drivers under the age of 18 across multiple categories.
All accredited media must operate in accordance with championship safeguarding policies.
Media personnel must: → Respect the privacy of drivers and families → Avoid intrusive filming in sensitive areas → Follow all safeguarding instructions provided by officials
Any safeguarding concerns must be reported immediately to the Championship Safeguarding Officer.

Monitoring & Compliance
The Kart Championship and OTM reserve the right to challenge any individual believed to be operating as media without appropriate accreditation. Content published after an event may be reviewed to ensure compliance with championship media policies.
Where unauthorised media activity is identified, the championship may: → Require future media registration → Restrict access to events → Remove media permissions

Official Championship Media
Stu Stretton and On Track Marketing act as the Official Media Partner of The Kart Championship and provide official photography and media coverage throughout the season.
Stu Stretton and the OTM team may operate in additional operational areas where required to deliver official championship media.

Access
Right to Refuse or Remove Access
The Kart Championship and it’s official representatives reserve the right to: → Refuse media accreditation, → Restrict trackside access, → Or remove media access at any time where safety, safeguarding or operational rules are not followed.
All media personnel are expected to act professionally and support the safe operation of the championship.
